East Midlands Ambulance Service National Health Service (NHS) Trust (EMAS) provides emergency 999, urgent care and patient transport services for the 4.8 million people within the East Midlands region of the UK - covering Derbyshire (except Glossop, Hadfield and Tintwistle), Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire (including North and North East Lincolnshire), Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire. EMAS accident and emergency crews respond to over 776,000 emergency 999 calls every year. EMAS also provides over 1 million Patient transport journeys each year. They have a total of 76 bases in the East Midlands and over 800 ambulance vehicles. ==Services== EMAS frontline accident and emergency (A&E) teams of paramedics, community paramedics, technicians, nurse triage advisors, emergency care practitioners, Emergency Care Assistants (ECA's) community first responders and volunteer lifesavers are ready day or night to respond to an emergency. EMAS services include: * Emergency care and transport of patients. * Paramedic services at incidents and medical emergencies. * Diagnosis and treatment or referral for minor illnesses and injuries. * Responding to major incidents and emergencies with the specialist Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and with air ambulance colleagues.
